This summer we wanted to ensure that there were activities suitable for all ages of children and the team worked hard to put on a variety of activities in different locations throughout the holidays.
We stayed local for some, with trips to Gypsy Brae and we held our end of summer family fun day at Granton Parish Church. Gypsy Bare allowed the freedom and space for children and parents to enjoy activities such as stone decorating, storytelling and music whilst the older children used the wooded area for den building and toasting marshmallows. Our family fun day attracted over 100 children and parents/carers, we had a little something for everyone with sensory play, arts and crafts, a bouncy castle, balloon modeling and face painting. Highlights included Pop the Bubbleman and a dance workshop which saw the staff and children learn dances to Sing 2 and Encanto.
We also had trips to the Meadows and the Fringe Festival. Families attended Bubba-licious, Chores and The Amazing Bubble Man show with younger children whilst our older children took part in the interactive Wonder Games show, which saw some of the kids up on stage with Maddie and Greg.
We then had a big outing to Almond Valley Heritage Centre with transport and lunches organised by the team. It was a wonderful day out with so much for the families to explore and take part in.
