A Busy Term

We’ve had a busy first term of 2023, delivering over 260 individual support sessions and 60 group work sessions so far this year. The term has saw our walking group resume, new employability support delivered to parents and Pregnancy Cafe continuing at The Heart of Newhaven.

The employability group have been working towards completing an SQA award in employability and 8 parents completed First Aid training and are now looking forward to Mental Health First Aid training starting next term.

Despite the colder weather we have still been busy at Steps to Grow each week and we were pleased to have some interactive story telling sessions taking place in the gardens. We’re also looking forward to bringing in some new equipment into the garden next term, which will help support the children’s early learning and development.

Mubarra and Ali have completed another Schools Out group, with the children completing the their Hi5 awards as part of the group. Mubarra has also recently started delivering Seasons for Growth in a local school alongside Ferrywell Youth Project.

We’ve also just started work with Granton Parish Church and their Granton Blooms group. This group will be running monthly and focuses on seed sowing, plant care, flower arranging and activities for the kids to take part in.
