We’ve really enjoyed delivering this group over the last six weeks. The aim of the group has been to build children’s confidence and to promote building positive friendships. All six sessions were delivered outdoors at Gypsy Brae.
During the sessions children were supported to learn valuable outdoor skills such as den building, rope tying skills, carving skills and safe fire lighting. Throughout the sessions the children were encouraged to develop their communication and team building skills, including being part of the risk assessment process and planning future sessions.
Hi5 awards have been integrated into the work we have been delivering and this allows each child taking part to receive a certificate for taking part and acknowledges their achievements. The children have spoke positively about the group and have said they have gained in confidence and new friendships have been formed.
