Family Wellbeing

All families need support at different times of their lives and we recognise that children’s wellbeing is impacted by the wellbeing of their families, parents and carers. Children’s wellbeing means our children growing up feeling loved and respected, and being equipped to realise their full potential. For this to be achieved families need to be able to access holistic whole family support at the right time, in a flexible and responsive way.

Through our Family Wellbeing service we offer a range of supports.

Work with parents;

  • To put in place the building blocks needed to maintain positive parenting whilst acknowledging and addressing the wider issues that can impact family life
  • Capacity building – building routines in the home, understanding your child’s behaviours and how to respond, positive behaviour strategies
  • Emotional support to restore positive mental health and wellbeing
  • Indentifying and accessing services which can offer further support
  • Advocacy

Work with parents and children together;

  • Providing opportunities for parents and children to share positive experiences together
  • Nurturing the attachment between parent and child
  • Role modelling play
  • Connecting families with the wider community

Support for children;

  • Providing children with a safe space to share experiences in
  • Learning how to understand and manage emotions
  • Building resilience
  • Nurturing self worth and confidence
  • Providing opportunities for children to build peer relationships
  • Can take place at home, in school or in the community.
