The group’s location in the school will allow parents to drop off their children in the morning and come straight into the group, which should help to provide a familiar and comfortable, as well as convenient, space. The group will be based on supporting parents with their wellbeing, how to interact with this aspect of their lives that often loses priority to the other demands of their lives, and practical steps to improve their wellbeing in a non-judgemental space. We will be exploring this topic with tools and practice that we have used previously; wellbeing can mean different things to each individual and thus we have always found that each parent will get something different out of the activities and discussions. The group has been organised in response to the desire from parents in this community to have a space and resource that is for them specifically, and we are all looking forward to what comes out of the trial group.
