December

The run up to Christmas has been as busy as ever but it was lovely to take time last week to celebrate with families and Santa at our first big indoor party since the pandemic. Read on to hear more about what’s been happening at the project this month.

Alongside our normal group work and one to one supports, it’s been great to plan some Christmas outings for families. We’ve had trips into town for Santa’s Stories and to went to see the magical Sea Dragon Show. We were also lucky enough to be able to pass on tickets for the winter wonderland in town to families, thanks to Volunteer Edinburgh.

Throughout December we were busy preparing for our Christmas party which was held at Granton Parish Church last week. We had over 50 families join us on the day, where the team had planned sensory activities, arts and crafts and party games. Santa also joined us and the parents and children loved receiving their gifts and having their photo taken with him. Alongside the gifts that Santa gave, we also had presents for all the children who engage with Stepping Stones. We individually chose and wrapped over 170 gifts for children, a huge thanks to State Street, Mazars, Chiene and Tait, the board of Trustees and the friends and family of the staff team for buying all the presents we had chosen.

Finally, a thanks to Spartans for donating 140 selection boxes!
