The sessions support sensory experiences and messy play, encouraging children to dig for worm, learn about plant life and search for bugs! Each session included using nature to create arts and crafts, and the families were great at helping with planting around the garden.
Each session ended with everyone sitting together to enjoy a snack, which created a real community feel, the sunshine also helped!
Feedback from families who attended
“We don’t have a garden, which is the main reason I took my child to the sessions. I was delighted to see how much my child explored the space! She thrived in the environment, and it’s absolute crucial to have access to outdoor play her development. The staff are lovely and make sure that both the children and the parents feel welcome it’s a lovely place to chat and connect with other parents while our children play in a safe space”.
“Coming to the steps to grow sessions helped me have time out from worrying about what to do with my son, it helped me come and meet new parents and just letting him run wild without it being an issue was nice. It good to just come and chat with other people”.
