Some of the planned activities for our young parent groups include arts and crafts, air fryer cooking, and jewellery making. These groups create a safe space where young parents can build peer support and look after their wellbeing whilst their children are supported by our Early Learning team. We also have some new group work running with Blast Boxing, where parents will have the chance to take part in a course of boxing classes. Additionally, we will be running a six-week mentor program to train young parents to become peer mentors.
Our Steps to Grow group will offer engaging outdoor activities for toddlers and their parents, while our new 16-week Toddler Steps group at Drylaw Neighbourhood Centre will feature a variety of enjoyable activities aimed at helping parents and their children learn together, following the Peep learning together programme. Baby Steps will resume after the October break, offering a chance for a new group of parents to connect, participate in workshops on weaning, sleep, and baby massage, and complete a first aid course. Additionally, our Pregnancy Cafe has now relocated to our space in Inchgarvie Court, and we are looking forward to meeting the expecting mothers and babies who attend.
