Meeting at Gypsie Brae, the training coordinator led the team through a broad range of activities suitable for the wide variety of age groups represented within Stepping Stones groups – ranging from Parent and toddler PEEP to afterschool groups.
Each activity made use of the natural environment and materials in active, reflective and fun ways; including but not limited to: den making, fairy home making, woodland long jump, woodland craft, and many more. The team were also led through protocols in conducting risk assessments for outdoor work, prefacing that due consideration of risk of work in these environments can also be counterbalanced with the incredible number of benefits of working outdoors for health and happiness.
The team are looking forward to putting their training into action next term.
