We continue to provide one to one support to parents and children during this difficult time and are using a variety of platforms to help support families emotional and mental well-being during isolation. This includes continuing to provide sleep counselling appointments to families needing support to establish healthy sleep routines for their children.
The early years team are delivering weekly circle time sessions with their families via Zoom and have also been ensuring the families have access to play and learning activities at home. So far we have now delivered 200 activity packs tailored to children’s ages, helping reduce families dependency on IT for home learning.
Our parents groups are now meeting online in the evenings where they can chat with their group worker and connect with their peers. Many of our parents live in lone-parent households and the group sessions provide a regular opportunity to connect with other adults and de-stress from the challenges of the day.
Thanks to our donors we are also supporting families with any material needs they have including delivering food or supermarket vouchers, providing money for fuel top ups and sourcing clothing and baby equipment where it is needed.
If you are a parent looking to tap into any of these services please email moragwilson@steppingstonesnorthedinburgh.co.uk.
