Family Residential

Last week we took 9 parents and 16 children to the Scout Adventure camp Fordell Firs. This is an extra activity for families to attend and gets their summer holidays off to positive start. The project raises funds to cover all the costs of the trip and it provides great opportunities for families to enjoy time with their children.

The weather was kind to us and we headed out to Muddy Boots on the first day where the children we were able to explore, take part in grass sledging and even watch a pigs race.  Back at Fordell the families and staff had dinner together and got settled into the lodge for the night. On our second day parents got time to take part in activities including climbing jacobs ladder and an adventure challenge course while staff occupied the children with forest walks, outdoor play and a picnic. The families also had a fantastic time playing on the inflatable water slide. Before heading home the next day their was a spot of den building and a mini sports day.

The residential gives parents and children the opportunity to escape their daily routine, make friends and have adventures! Well done to all the families for coming along and taking part, the team had a great time.
