The theme for this years International Women’s Day was choose to challenge, because from challenge comes change. We can all choose to seek out and celebrate women’s achievements and to challenge and call out gender bias and inequality. We will continue to celebrate women’s achievements throughout the year but this week we celebrated the achievements of;
Jordanna for who as a lone young parent shows dedication and courage to raising her son who has additional support needs. Each day Jordanna strives to ensure her son has the best start to life.
Kimberley who has been single handily raising her two sons during lockdown and juggling home schooling alongside working towards her HNC.
Shannon whose big win this year gas been getting back into education and passing her first semester at college. Showing that hard work pays off!
Tahmina who describes her biggest achievement this year as improving her mental health and seeking help when she was having suicidal thoughts. Showing bravery to speak up and find the support she needed.
Robyn who continues her journey in education as a young parent. Robyn recognises that being a young parent has made her more focused on her future. Robyn aspires to be a good role model for her daughter and this gives her the motivation to achieve her goals.
