Autumn Group Work

This term our core group has been busy with a variety of group work.

Our Muirhouse group has been taking part in SHE Scotland workshops. These workshops aim to support our parents to improve their confidence, self-esteem, body image and think about their dreams and aspirations.

We have also had a local artist, Lauren McLaughlin, support us this term to complete an art project. Parents are working together to create a piece of art around the role of a parent. The finished article, named ‘Just a Mum?’ will be displayed at North Edinburgh Arts from 13th-26th October.

Our Wardieburn parents have been taking part in a Triple P programme that aims to support parents to strengthen their relationship with their child and encourage positive behaviour. Parents have enjoyed learning about why children behave as they do and exploring techniques to encourage positive behaviour.

Our group worker Jane has been working alongside PCHP’s Memes to deliver cooking classes to our Wardie group. This is a great opportunity to use the amazing kitchen facilities at PCHP. Parents have been cooking lots of tasty food including; quiche, curry, pizza and salmon.
